Meghan Markle failed to land A-listers "like Beyonce and Taylor Swift" to star as guests in her new podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder. The podcast, which is said to already be in crisis after the release of the first three episodes, aims to focus on the "unfiltered stories behind the successes of notable female founders".
As reported by the Daily Mail, a source close to the production said: "No one's picking up the phone. The show is not landing." The source added: "There's no Taylor Swift. No Beyoncé. Not even a Hailey Bieber. And when you're pitching female empowerment, that's a problem. It speaks volumes for her pulling power. She's not happy about her lack of appeal."
A source close to the team claimed that Meghan has "dialled all the big names" to join her for "honest conversations with women who've built from the ground up, faced challenges and kept going."
However, according to Radar, these calls were not answered. One source said that fans can probably forget "red-carpet royalty" on Confessions of a Female Founder.
In the debut episode of her podcast, which aired on April 8, Meghan was joined by Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd.
The 35-year-old is also known to be one of the Duchess of Sussex's close friends.
Reshma Saujani, the founder of Girls Who Code, was the chosen guest of the second episode, which aired on April 15.
Her friend and hair colourist Kadi Lee, whose company the Duchess of Sussex has also invested in, appeared on yesterday's episode.
Speaking of her children, Meghan revealed that Kadi is known as "auntie" to Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3.
