Channel 4 star Kirstie Allsopp took to social media after a recent trip to Euston Station to criticise the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan. While taking a brief break from filming, Kirstie went live on Instagram while driving to an unknown location with her Love It or List It, co-star Phil Spencer.
The 53-year-old revealed to her followers that “Phil has just made a really shocking confession.” As her co-star shared his disbelief about Kirstie taking his admission to social media, the pair were distracted after a camera fell from the top of their car. After pulling over and adjusting the filming equipment, the TV presenter continued: “I’m a very proud Keep Britain Tidy Ambassador.
“I was very upset yesterday to get to Euston Station and find that the state of the taxi rank was appalling.” Kirstie stated: “I tweeted about it, and if it's not sorted out by Saturday, I will be personally going with my sons and anybody else I can gather to clean it up myself.
"So, Camden Council, Euston station, Mayor of London, you will be warned, but Phil has just admitted that at one point he was fined for dropping litter. In a way, I’m pleased because it shows that they are fining people, but in another way, I’m absolutely horrified, and he is too,” she added while panning the camera over to her co-star.
Phil agreed: “Yeah, horrified, I’m embarrassed,” as he remarked: “It was a long time ago.” On Monday (March 25), Kirstie took to X to share her horror and wrote: “OMG the West Garden taxi rank at Euston Station is a pigsty, litter everywhere, weeks old. No one looking after the plants, really really shocking & properly disgusting, who has let it get like that? @NetworkRailEU @CamdenCouncil @MayorofLondon @visitlondon @BBCLondonNews.”
After being encouraged to share a photo of the trashed taxi rank, Kirstie was informed that cleaning staff were removing the mess. To which the grateful mother of two responded: “Thank you so much.”
