King Charles had quite a peculiar reaction the first time he saw a very common kitchen item most of us use, according to a royal author. Author Tom Bower spoke about the monarch's first time coming into contact with cling film in his book Rebel Prince, in which he wrote about discussed the life of the late Prince Philip.
The author claimed the late royal used to complain about his son Charles and his "detachment" from the real world. He also said Charles "shrieked" and "trembled" in front of Queen Camilla when he made his new discovery.
Mr Bower wrote: "[Charles] walked into the dining room and shrieked."
He continued: "Fearing the worst, Camilla dashed in after him. 'What's this?' asked her husband, pointing at the food.
"'It's cling film, darling,' she replied."
Elsewhere in the book, the author added that Charles has a habit of changing clothes, up to four times a day.
The-then Prince of Wales allegedly had a strict ritual as to how he liked to spend his day.
This is the latest in a long line of alleged unique quirks that have been reported when it comes to King Charles. Further details were laid bare in Tina Brown's book The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor - the Truth and the Turmoil.
She claims that King Charles sends a van of his possessions to his friends’ country houses the day before he's due to stay to unload his “bed, furniture and even pictures”.
This includes his orthopaedic bed, lavatory seat and Kleenex Velvet lavatory paper. Brown also says Charles brings his own landscapes of the Scottish Highlands to decorate his room.
