Prince Harry will be celebrating his seventh wedding anniversary with Meghan Markle next month, however it turns out things could have been very different for the duke. While Harry, 40, and Meghan, 43, appear to be very much in love, one comedian recently revealed that, before the duke met Meghan, she tried to set him up with another famous US woman.

Comedian Katherine Ryan revealed on the Nip Tuck podcast with hosts Ashley Stobart and Lauren Adamson that at a party hosted at Jimmy Carr’s home in 2016, she tried to set Harry up with Kourtney Kardashian, 46, who was less famous at the time. As reported by The Daily Mail, Kourtney - who is a reality star on Keeping Up With the Kardashians - was at the party, which had also been attended by Prince Harry’s cousin Princess Beatrice. At the time of the party, Harry was single and had not yet met Meghan,  and Kourtney was in an on-and-off relationship with Scott Disick.

Speaking about Carr’s party, Katherine said: “As soon as I went in I saw Kourtney Kardashian there with Princess Beatrice.

“I went straight over to her, because I knew this woman, because I’m so invested in the family and the reality show. And she was so charming and nice to me.

“I said, ‘You need to leave Scott’. I was right. And she said, ‘Well, how can I do that? He’s in my house right now’. And I said, ‘Don’t go back to the house – you need to leave Scott’.

“She was, like, ‘Well, I don’t know, who would I even be with?’ And I was, like, ‘Prince Harry, maybe?’ This was pre-Meghan.”

Katherine said: “I said Prince Harry because she was in the UK - two royal families uniting.”

Prince Harry was not believed to be at the party and didn’t date Kourtney, meeting Meghan that same year.

The prince was quickly besotted with the former Suits actress, proposing to her towards the end of 2017.

Since then, the duke and duchess have stayed firmly by each other’s sides, quitting royal life in 2020 and relocating to Montecito in California, where they live with their two children Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three.
