Satruday Kitchen viewers said they "turned over to James Martin" as one guest's decibel level proved too much for them. Taking to X one viewer wrote: "#SaturdayKitchen Read all these comments while catching up late. Less than 5 mins in have turned over to James Martin. They were referring to the slew of comments criticising Pose star Billy Porter's volume levels with many viewers saying he was shouting.
"Why does Billy Porter have to shout everything?! #SaturdayKitchen," one queried. "Does Billy Porter live by a busy road - with a deaf person?… #saturdaykitchen," another asked. A third quipped: "#saturdaykitchen I wish that American bloke would speak up a bit... I can't hear him at the bottom of my garden..." Meanwhile a fourth sad they wouldn;t be going to see him in the show Cabaret in London's West End. "Def dont wanna see this version of Cabaret I'd be deaf after mins #saturdaykitchen," they commented.
Billy appeared alongside Marisha Wallace who is his Cabaret co-star.
Matt also welcomed chefs Elliott Grover, Seema Pankhania and EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt who showcased his culinary skills.
Rival channel ITV managed to avoid a schedule shake up by broadcasting the funeral on their streaming service ITVX and their YouTube channel.
Saturday Kitchen Live is on BBC One on Saturday mornings at 10am.
