Dylan Douglas, the 24-year-old son of Michael Douglas, 80, and Catherine Zeta-Jones, 55, has landed his first movie role in psychological thriller I Will Come to You. Dylan, who describes himself as an actor, activist, producer and media personality on his website will take the lead role of Julian Marks. Julian is described as "a complex and enigmatic character driven by conflicting desires and murky motivations."
“I was drawn to this role because of its complexity and depth. I am looking forward to bringing this character to life and being a part of a project that pushes boundaries,” Dylan told Variety. Filming on the project is set to being later this year. Dylan's 21-year-old sister Carys has already made a mark on the movie world. She is forging a career as an actress and assistant director, and is known for her roles in The Holy Devil and Shell amongst others.
Dylan's starring role makes him the third generation of Douglas leading men. His grandfather Kirk Douglas, Michael's father, ws nominated three times for a Best Actor Oscar for his roles in Champion, The Bad and the Beautiful, and Lust for Life. While he never won a comeptitve Academy Award Kirk, who died in February 202 at the age of 103, was presented with an honorary Oscar in 1996 "for his 50 years as a creative and moral force in the film community.”
Dylan's father Michael, who followed his father into the movie business, was one of the biggest movie stars of the 80s and 90s thanks to flicks such as Fatal Attraction, Basic Instinct and Romancing the Stone. He has won two won two Oscars during his career. He took his first home for producing One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest in 1975 and later won the Best Actor gong for his role as ruthless stockbroker Gordon Gekko in Wall Street in 1987.
Dylan's mother, Welsh beauty Catherine Zeta-Jones is also an Oscar winner after taking home the gong for her show-stopping performance in Chicago in 2002. Despite being heavily pregnant with Dylan's sister at the time of the ceremony she was determined to show up and have her moment. With her daughter officially due just 10 days later an ambulance was reportedly kept on standby outside the Kodak Theatre in case she went into labour early.
