BBC star Thomas Skinner has made an emotional plea to track down a young couple who rushed his daughter Darla to hospital after she suffered a terrifying fit. The reality star, best known for his appearance on The Apprentice, took to X on Sunday to share what had happened, explaining: “Yesterday afternoon my wife took the twins out with her sisters for a meal in Archway, North London whilst I took Henry to the pub with our friends.
My daughter Darla had a fit (febrile convulsion) whilst they was walking towards the restaurant on the pavement outside Home Bargains." He revealed that a young couple came to the rescue, adding: “A young couple helped my wife and her sister. And took them to whittington hospital straight away in their car. My wife didn’t get a chance to say thank you properly as she run in whilst my baby still having a fit. Darla is now stable and doing well and back home."
Desperate to find the couple and show his gratitude, he added: "But I really want to thank this couple. They are absolute Legends and hero’s.
"Can you all please help me find this lovely young couple who helped my family. I want to thank them and treat them as they took Sinéad and baby Darla to the hospital very quickly and if they wasn’t there it could have been another story."
Thankfully, his daughter has now bounced back, as he shared: “Darla is her happy little self this morning and back to normal. Thank you every one and happy Sunday. Now both twins have had a febrile convulsion, they are extremely scary."
He also praised the hospital staff who cared for Darla, adding: “Thank you to the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff at Whittington Hospital. If you know this couple please can you give me their number or email. Thank you. Please share or rt. Bosh.”
The businessman, who shot to fame on the fifteenth series of The Apprentice, posted a photo of Darla wrapped in a pink blanket and cuddling a dummy as she recovered in hospital.
A febrile seizure (febrile convulsion or fit) can sometimes happen when a child has a high temperature and it's important to get medical help if your child has a seizure, however, it's unlikely to harm your child or cause long-term effects, according to the NHS.
Thomas has three children: son Henry and twin daughters Roma and Darla.
Fans flooded his post with messages of support. One said: “Glad she's well mate. Must of been very scary. Great effort on the couple helping out.” Another wrote: “Thoughts are with you and your family Thomas mate.”
However, despite the outpouring of goodwill, no one has yet come forward to help identify the heroic couple.
It’s not the first time Thomas has faced a terrifying health scare with his daughter.
Last year, he opened up about another frightening episode and said he wanted to "raise awareness" for other parents.
"As a parent I can honestly say it’s the scariest thing I’ve seen because I thought I was going to lose my daughter this afternoon. But now I’ve been with the fantastic medical team at Queens hospital they have reassured me that it’s all okay.
"If this happens to your baby especially is this hot summer. Try not to panic. Lay them on their side. Cool them down with damp cold rag/towel."
