Meghan Markle has finally spoken about whether she will run for US President or not. The Duchess of Sussex's political aspirations have always been a subject of interest among royal watchers.
Before venturing out in the business world this year, Meghan was long rumoured to be keen on branching out into the political field. But she set all rumours aside this week when she revealed she has no political aspirations during a new interview with one of her close pals.
Meghan appeared in a new podcast interview with co-founder of IT Cosmetics, Jamie Kern Lima, who is also the guest of the fourth episode of her own podcast series, Confessions of a Female Founder - and was asked about whether she will ever run for US President.
But the Duchess said that she has no interest in meddling in politics.
Jamie asked Meghan: "Would you ever run for office?"
Meghan replied: "No."
The host then asked: "Never?" to which Meghan said again: "No" but then Jamie asked again "Never?"
The duchess then said: "Never. Oh, God. I mean, you could say never, say never.
"No, I'm not interested in that. No."
Elsewhere, the Duchess told the podcast she is enjoying a new "honeymoon" feeling with her husband since the pair got "a little bit of breathing space" after stepping back from their royal duties.
Meghan said the couple struggled to fully enjoy one another's company early in their relationship as they were quickly put into "the trenches" by the media spotlight.
She said: "You have to imagine at the beginning, everyone has, like, butterflies.
"Then we immediately went into the trenches together. Yeah, right out of the gate, like six months into dating.
"So now, seven years later, when you have a little bit of breathing space, you can just enjoy each other in a new way, and that's why I feel like it's more of a honeymoon period for us now."
The Duchess praised her husband for keeping the family "safe".
