Meghan Markle has revealed her biggest "fear" in the latest episode of her Confessions of Female Founder podcast series. The Duchess of Sussex welcomed her close pal and "rocking chair friend" Jamie Kern Lima on the latest instalment of her podcast show, which was released today (April 29).
Jamie is the co-founder of It Cosmetics and L'Oreal's first female CEO. The two women chatted about the struggles of setting up their own company as the entrepreneur detailed how she launched her successful brand.
During one segment of the episode, Meghan, who also launched her lifestyle brand, As Ever, spoke about her feelings when she first perceived the concept of her brand.
She said: "At least for me, I can only speak for myself, at the begging i just liked making jam.
"All I liked to do was just make jam and preserves. And it went from 'okay I'm gonna share this jam with lots of friends and family' to 'people really like it and it brings me joy, so maybe I can share it more broadly.' "
The duchess then added: "But even then, I was in so much fear of failure or opinion that I wasn't thinking big enough at first.
"I thought, 'that's great, I'll get my cottage licence and I'll just do a small batch of jam from home'.
"And I had to take a step back and look at what I was doing, saying 'Am I playing small because I want to play small or am I setting motion playing small because I'm scared?"
It comes one day after the duchess sat down with Jamie for her own eponymous podcast show.
The duchess told the podcast she is enjoying a new "honeymoon" feeling with her husband since the pair got "a little bit of breathing space" after stepping back from their royal duties.
Meghan said the couple struggled to fully enjoy one another's company early in their relationship as they were quickly put into "the trenches" by the media spotlight.
