Piers Morgan sent tongues wagging as he shared a cryptic message after Prince Harry’s charity slammed the royal over allegations of racism, bullying, and misogyny following his exit. The Duke of Sussex, 40, set up the African charity Sentebale back in 2006 in memory of his late mother Princess Diana alongside his pal Prince Seeiso of Lesotho.
In a statement seen by The Times, the pair have now revealed they are siding with the charity’s trustees after they unanimously resigned following a row with board chair Sophie Chandauka. Dr Chandauka, a Zimbabwe-born lawyer, was selected to be chair of the trustees last year. But it is understood the trustees strongly disagreed with the decision and wanted her to step down, which has seen her sue.
According to reports, the recent feud was sparked by the move to transfer the charity’s fundraising operation to Africa, which caused several key figures to leave the organisation.
In an explosive statement given to The Mail, Dr Chandauka claimed there had been a “cover-up” at the charity. She alleged there was “weak executive management, abuse of power, bullying, harassment, misogyny, and misogynoir.” Misogynoir is the term used for describing discrimination against black women.
The board chair also slammed “people in this world who behave as though they are above the law and mistreat people... then play the victim card and use the very press they disdain.”
She told how the charity “is not a vanity project” and she will “not be intimidated.” However, when speaking to The Sun, the Zimbabwean lawyer said she had acted with integrity as a “proud African” and “stands for those other women who do not have the ways and means”.
Dr Chandauka emphasised she was purely focused on “fundraising for the very important work of the young people” in Sentebale. She is understood to be suing the trustees over calls for her to stand down from the post.
After reading the eye-opening article, the former Good Morning Britain host took to X – formerly known as Twitter – to share the news with his 8.9million followers online.
He simply captioned the post: “Well, well, well... [detective emoji]” as his fans flooded to the comments to share their thoughts on his cryptic post. One user penned: “Piers hates Harry, why, due to Meghan?” as another quipped: “What’s got you thinking today?”
Meanwhile, others claimed that the royal's exit was simply "another woke meltdown". One explained: "Another one bites the dust! The woke circus crumbles, and they scream on the way out. Maybe Harry can hug it out with Oprah again."
Another echoed: "Another woke meltdown from the elite class. Always playing the victim card when things don't go their way" as a third simply stated: "Maybe focus on the charity's actual mission instead of pushing political drama".
