The Prince and Princess of Wales marked their 14th wedding anniversary this week in a sweet way on social media, and there was only one royal who publicly responded to them. Prince William and Princess Kate travelled to Scotland this week for a two-day visit on Wednesday and Thursday.
The royal couple tied the knot on April 29, 2011, at Westminster Abbey in London during a lavish ceremony that was watched by millions worldwide. On Wednesday, after a full day of engagements on the Isle of Mull, the couple publicly marked their 14th wedding anniversary by sharing online a romantic image of themselves on the secluded Scottish island.
William and Kate were pictured with their arms around each other, facing out to sea on the shoreline of the Isle of Mull, where they spent the day celebrating the island's rural community.
They captioned the post: "Wonderful to be back on the Isle of Mull. Thank you to everyone for such a warm welcome [red heart emoji] W & C."
And it was only Princess Beatrice's husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, who reacted to it.
Edo, who is usually active on social media, left a comment under their post on Instagram, featuring two heart emojis.
William and Kate's post has so far received nearly 800,000 likes, with many fans giving them their best wishes for the years ahead.
One user wrote in the comments section: "14th wedding anniversary. We all are behind you!"
Another one said: "I’m so happy that you were able to have this moment to yourselves. Beautiful photo."
A third one added: "OMG this is the cutest photo ever! I’m so happy for you and that you’re spending your anniversary in such a beautiful place."
The couple's trip to Scotland ended the day after, when they paid a private visit to the Isle of Iona.
