Prince William has issued a new message on social media just hours before his daughter Princess Charlotte's 10th birthday. The Prince of Wales also sent birthday wishes to a pensioner who turned 100 and whom he met earlier this year during a secret visit to Scotland.
Kensington Palace shared two new images on its social media accounts - one featuring William and Christina Charlton and another one with the pensioner on her own. It was accompanied by the message: "Happy 100th Birthday, Chris! It was a pleasure meeting Christina Charlton during a recent visit to the Deidre Knight Centre in Forfar, Angus. Yesterday she celebrated her 100th birthday! We hope you had a wonderful day!"
In another tweet linked to the original post, the Palace said: "Thank you to the incredible carers and support workers whose compassion and dedication create such a warm, supportive community at Deidre Knight."
The heir to the throne met Christina while on a visit to the Deirdre Knight Centre in Forfar back in February.
William, who is known as the Duke of Rothesay when in Scotland, toured the facilities accompanied by the centre's manager Kathleen Blythe, spoke to residents and staff and even joined in with a few games of curling and dominoes.
Back in February, the centre made a gushing post about the visit on its social media, saying: "[It] was an amazing afternoon and an honour for us to welcome him into our service and show him around, and he was impressed with all the work we do."
It came just one day after the Prince and Princess of Wales completed their two-day tour on the Isle of Mull and Iona in Scotland.
The royal couple spent two days mingling with the local communities and even celebrating their 14th wedding anniversary while on tour.
