It is the perfect time of year to spending the day enjoying a spring walk - and going somewhere new is always exciting. This incredible spot has been hailed as "one of England's most beautiful walks" and was used as a filming location for the Wicked film.
Every year more than 850,000 people visit Seven Sisters to see the famous cliffs between Seaford and Eastbourne, which are part of the South Downs National Park. Not only can you be wowed by the views of the incredible cliffs, but it is a fantastic spot for walkers and it is a haven for wildlife. You can also chill by the beach and enjoy a picnic during low tides, or swim in the water to cool down on a hot day.
The beautiful cliffs were a key part in the filming for Wicked, released in November last year. You may have noticed them when progaonist character Elphaba sings The Wizard and I and runs across the top of the cliffs, belting her heart out. The pebble sands and crashing waves were a key part of the scene.
Plus film crews, lorraies and trailers were spotted at Seven Sister Car Park, ready to film a boat scene near the meanders. This was for the moment that Glinda arrives at Shiz University in a pink sailboat.
Film fans love visiting locations of their favourite pictures, and you can spend the whole day at this one.
If you are wanting to explore the whole area, the full walk at the hotspot, which is approximaely 54 minutes drive from London, is 13 miles long. The vast area gets its name Seven Sisters becuase of the seven peaks at the hilltop.
Stop for a bite to eat a the likes of The Grab and Go, Saltmarsh Café, The Cuckmere Inn, Plough and Harrow pub, the Long Man Brewery tasting room and Cadence hub and café.
Popular staycation reviewer, known as @myukstaycation on TikTok, recently visited the spot and shared jaw-dropping footage of its beauty. She said: "One of England's most beautiful walks. The beautiful white cliffs off the south coast. Save this for your next beautiful hike..."
She said she found the walking easy to moderate and was able to park at Crownlink Car park. You can also get a train to Eastbourne and then get a busy to the beach.
One commented and said: "So so so beautiful. Can't wait to visit one day." Another added: "Need to do this walk one day." "It's literally so gorgeous in person," insisted another.
One other wrote: "Looks incredible! Hopefully I'll visisted one day." "Such a gorgeous walk," commented another who loves the location.
The location has also become popular with tourists, and in China it was one of the top travel searches on the internet, Chief Executive for South Downs National Park Authority previously said.
However, visitors must avoid going to the edge of the cliff as the National Trust recently warned that there is a fresh crack in the cliff which means a chunk of it could "collapse at any time", reports the BBC.
A spokesperson said: "It isn't safe to sit or stand close to the edge or base of the cliffs as they may be unstable or undercut in places and can fall without warning. We urge all visitors to be responsible and stay safe, by keeping back from the cliff edges and bases when visiting the area."
Plus, recently coaches were banned from dropping passengers off at Birling Gap - which is just next to Seven Sisters - because the terrain struggling.
