Prince Harry had been seeking to overturn a decision that had downgraded his security after he stopped being a working royal and moved to the US. As well as speaking of his own fears, the 40-year-old has previously shared his worries about safety have prevented him from bringing his wife and two children to the UK. Earlier this week, it emerged that he had lost his latest battle to overturn the decision.
Although royals such as King Charles and Queen Camilla and the Prince and Princess of Wales are given full-time police protection, other members of the family do not have that luxury - something that Harry feels like he should be allowed to have whilst visiting the UK.
Here, the Express looks at other members of the Royal Family who don't have around-the-clock protection in the UK.
Prince Andrew lost his state-funded security when he stepped down from royal duties in 2019.
Much like their father, Princess Beatrice, 36, and Princess Eugenie, 35, also don't receive security as they are not working royals.
Beatrice and Eugenie previously had police protection at an annual cost of £500,000 - but this was removed by the late Queen Elizabeth II in 2011 during a dispute over expenses.
In 2010, the now-King Charles is said to have raised concern as Eugenie accumulated substantial security costs whilst travelling during her gap year.
Another one of the King's nieces, Zara Tindall, also doesn't have police protection as she, like Eugenie and Beatrice, is not a working royal.
Princess Anne, Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh also do not have full-time security protection.
The King's siblings and his sister-in-law are only granted protection when they are out-and-about performing official duties.
