Romeo Beckham reportedly delivered a heartwarming speech at his famous father David Beckham’s 50th birthday bash this weekend. The former Brentford footballer commanded the room in London where his older brother, Brooklyn Beckham, failed to appear.
On Saturday (May 3), Hollywood A-listers like Tom Cruise and Eva Longoria piled into the Michelin-starred Core in Notting Hill to celebrate David’s milestone moment. The ex-Manchester United legend’s family was also in tow, with wife Victoria Beckham, 51, Harper Seven, 13, and sons Romeo, 22, and Cruz, 20, making appearances.
Despite allegedly being invited, David and Victoria’s eldest son, Brooklyn, 26, and his wife, Nicola Peltz, 30, did not attend the star-studded event. It was therefore up to Romeo to step up in his sibling’s absence to raise a toast to his dad.
The Mirror reports that the model’s speech began by thanking guests for trekking to Kensington on a Saturday night. “Good evening, everyone. I would like to start by thanking you all for being here tonight.
“I know without many of you in here tonight he wouldn't be half of the man he is today,” he allegedly continued. “But to the man of the moment.”
The publication claims that Romeo used the moment to praise the businessman at length, described as the “most amazing role model” on social media earlier this week by his second-oldest child.
Following reports of an alleged feud between Brooklyn and his family, Victoria took to Instagram to break her silence on the situation.
Sharing a series of heartwarming, intimate photographs to Instagram, the fashion designer wrote: “Creating special memories with family and friends. We love you all. @romeobeckham @cruzbeckham #HarperSeven xx."
In one photograph, Victoria and David could be seen posing with their children in the South of France. Another image shows David beside his parents, Ted and Sandra.
The London birthday party comes after the former Real Madrid star kicked off his birthday celebrations in Miami, Florida.
The Mirror writes that ahead of the bash, Romeo stood up once again to deliver a speech, suggesting he knew his brother would not be attending the dinner in the UK capital.
While Brooklyn and Nicola were absent from the celebrations in London and at the family’s party at their Cotswolds mansion earlier in the week, David was no short of guests.
The likes of his former teammate, Gary Neville, and celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay were in attendance.
Taking to social media to gush about David, Gary, who turned 50 in February, wrote: “Happy 50th mate. You're the best! Stand still today for once and reflect on everything you have achieved and done in these first 50 years of your life.
"We've won, lost, laughed and cried but had the most incredible times together. I can still see our mums and dads in the crowd. Everything you've done has come through humility, care and hard work. I'm proud of you and more importantly trust you with my life. All my love to you."
