US President Donald Trump has again threatened to use military force to take Greenland, saying he won't rule it out. Mr Trump repeated calls for the US to take over the country from NATO-ally Denmark, appearing uncertain as to whether that can be achieved without military action.
He raised Greenland during discussion about whether force would be used to make Canada the 51st state in a wide-ranging interview with US broadcaster NBC. Mr Trump has repeatedly suggested the United States' northern neighbour should be part of the US.
Mr Trump told NBC it was "highly unlikely" the US would need to use military force to make Canada the 51st state, but added: "Something could happen with Greenland. I’ll be honest, we need that for national and international security... I don’t see it with Canada. I just don’t see it, I have to be honest with you."
