On Tuesday (6 May), Gethin Jones caused a delightful stir on Morning Live as he stopped the show to reveal his co-host Michelle Ackerley was brimming with exciting news.

Interrupting the regular flow of the programme, Gethin turned to Michelle and said: "You've got some news that you wanted to share, and it's amazing."

Beaming with joy, Michelle announced: "I have actually, yes. I am four months pregnant!"

The studio burst into celebrations as Michelle's colleagues rushed to congratulate her, hailing the revelation as "great news" amidst a chorus of cheers.

"I still can't quite believe it myself, really!" admitted the glowing presenter. "Very, very happy."

Gethin then disclosed that Michelle's husband Ben has been taking the news in stride, remaining "very calm" while Michelle confirmed his easygoing attitude toward impending parenthood.

"But, you've found a way of getting him prepared for what's to come, haven't you Michelle?" Gethin prodded further, allowing Michelle to divulge her quirky home preparations.

"The thing is, I'm not really sleeping at the moment. I've been waking up in the middle of the night at 3am, and then I've taken it upon myself to wake Ben up and be like 'See, this is what we're going to have to get used to!'

"With sleep in short supply, why not chat through the wee hours? It's all about preparation!" she quipped.

Michelle also took to Instagram with a heartwarming post featuring a number of photos including wedding day snapshots with Ben from a year ago.

She shared her battle with endometriosis with her followers and confessed that discovering she was pregnant was a "massive surprise" for both her and Ben, acknowledging the emotional ups and downs they've experienced.

"The news of falling pregnant really came as a massive surprise to both of us. We still can't quite believe it," she revealed in her heartfelt update. "And so in October, the start of a new chapter begins for @benryan7s and I, albeit with nervous and cautious excitement."

Michelle and Ben, who cohabit in London, exchanged vows in May 2024 following their engagement in 2022. Ben works in sports coaching and holds the role of performance director at Brentford FC.
