Nicola Peltz's latest Instagram post has attracted attention for the wrong reasons, as she and husband Brooklyn Beckham conspicuously avoided David Beckham's 50th birthday bash on Saturday. The high-profile pair was conspicuously absent from the lavish parties which saw attendance from all of David's other children - including Romeo, whom Brooklyn is purportedly not on speaking terms with.

Nicola, aged 30 and speculated to be at the heart of the family feud, has remained silent on the reported discord. However, following her promotion of sunscreen on social media this Monday, her followers weighed in on the matter. After watching her allure the lens while showcasing a product from Isdin and noting that "May is melanoma awareness month" one fan questioned directly: "Why don't you like your in-laws? Don't you go to any of their events?".

Another comment urged: "You should have gone to your father-in-law's birthday party. It's rude of you not to attend and cause an issue." An additional critique expressed outrage: "You should both be ashamed! His father has just turned 50. Shocking!", reports the Mirror.

Reportedly, Nicola and Brooklyn had approached David and Victoria to celebrate the event privately, sharing their discomfort around Romeo's partner, Kim Turnbull, as a reason for shunning the main event.

A friend of Brooklyn relayed to The Sun: "He flew to London with the sole intention of seeing his family and celebrating his dad's birthday.

"He suggested going for breakfast or a coffee but was told the only chance to see the family would be at one of their lavish parties which Kim would likely be at, so he refused. As far as he sees it, his parents have chosen Romeo and his new girlfriend over him."

Brooklyn, who allegedly had a fling with Kim in 2016, is reportedly wary of Kim's 'motives' for dating Romeo and is said to have been left 'saddened' by the weekend falling out. A close source accuses billionaire heir Nicola of 'controlling' the aspiring chef, claiming that the Beckham patriarch David, said to be 'really gutted' about the absence, along with matriarch Victoria are "done" with her.

An insider conveyed to the Daily Mail: "Victoria and David would do anything to get their son back, but they are done with Nicola now.

"Nicola basically finds a way to start an argument then she pushes him to not speak to his family and then he doesn't show for family events. She's done this before every family event since the wedding. As for David's birthday, it feels like it's all part of the same pattern.

"There were different kinds of events so he could have surely found one that would have suited them, so it makes you think there was drama after drama while they were here. He's a kind boy who clearly doesn't feel he can stand up to Nicola."

On Monday, David left a touching message for Brooklyn, expressing how much he missed his eldest after taking Romeo and Cruz on a fishing trip.

Captioning a snapshot of the delighted trio, the star affectionately referenced the family's "nutter in the kitchen", penning: "@brooklynbeckham you were missed".
