Prince Archie is celebrating his sixth birthday today, with his mum Meghan Markle uploading a new photograph of the young prince to mark the occasion. In the sweet picture, Archie can be seen in what appears to be pyjamas as he looks out over a terrace at the sun setting over the sea.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, who rejoined social media this year, five years after quitting the Royal Family with Prince Harry, captioned the photograph with a sweet message. She wrote: “Our son. Our sun. Happy 6th birthday to Archie! Thank you for all of the love, prayers, and warm wishes for our sweet boy. He’s six! Where did the time go? (And for all of you who came to celebrate with us at his party last weekend, thank you for making his birthday so incredibly special).” However, it appears that there is one thing missing in the post, which was uploaded on Tuesday.

The prince told the BBC: "Everybody knew that they were putting us at risk in 2020 and they hoped that me knowing that risk would force us to come back. But then when you realise that didn't work, do you not want to keep us safe?”

In response to Harry's BBC interview, a Palace spokesperson said: "All of these issues have been examined repeatedly and meticulously by the courts, with the same conclusion reached on each occasion."

It is not known whether any members of the Royal Family have wished Prince Archie a happy birthday privately.

No members of the Royal Family are believed to have flown to Montecito in California - where Meghan and Harry have lived since 2020 - to attend the young royal’s birthday party.
