The Met Office has issued a new yellow weather warning for fog. The warning is in place until 9am this morning (Thursday, March 27) and people have been warned of widespread travel disruption.
The yellow warning covers 14 areas of the south of England, including Brighton and Hove, East Sussex, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Kent, Portsmouth, Southampton, Surrey and West Sussex. It also covers Bournemouth Christchurch and Poole, Devon, Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire.
Forecasters say that "dense fog" could lead to travel disruption across the region. Some bus and train services will be delayed while there is also a chance of flight cancellations.
The Met Office said: "Not everywhere will see fog, but where fog patches do occur, visibility may fall below 100 metres in places, leading to difficult driving conditions and some travel disruption. Fog will slowly lift by mid morning."
The forecaster is advising people to check road conditions before heading out on their journeys this morning. It's also advised to leave extra time where possible.
The Met Office added: "Bus and train services, as well as flights and ferry travel may also be affected; check for updates from your travel company and follow their advice."
