Matt Tebbutt was inundated with support as he issued an emotional update on his son. The Saturday Kitchen presenter, 51, shares two children, daughter Jessie and son Henry, both in their early twenties, with his wife Lisa Tebbutt, whom he married in 1999. Taking to Instagram, the TV chef revealed his son is now a qualified pilot. Matt posted an image of Henry smiling on an airfield as he prepared to embark on his first solo flight for the Royal Air Force.

Ever the proud father, Matt wrote: "My son the PILOT !! First solo flight today for @henry.tebbutt @east_of_scotland_uas #raf #firstsoloflight #leuchars." The post sparked an influx of supportive messages from Matt's friends and followers who congratulated Henry on the milestone. Morning Live presenter Gethin Jones simply branded it "class". Another added: "Ooh, how wonderful. Congratulations to him."

"This is Fantastic! Congratulations Henry!!! School of Top Gun next!," exclaimed baker Cherie Denham. Olly Smith, a regular on Saturday Kitchen, added: "This is absolutely amazing. Like father, like son. A bit like Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker with a twist of Top Gun. So proud."

Another echoed: "That’s epic. What an amazing thing to do." Matt generally keeps his family life out of the spotlight, therefore not much is known about his two children. However, it's clear he shares pride over their achievements.

In 2023, while filming an episode of Saturday Kitchen, he announced: "I've just had a text from my daughter. Proud dad moment. She got a first at university."

Matt also shared a photo of him alongside Jessie at her graduation, revealing she graduated with a first in music from Goldsmiths University. Meanwhile, back in 2022, Matt disclosed that Henry attended University of St Andrews in Scotland.

The celebrity chef opened up about his decades long marriage to Lisa, admitting it was "touch and go" at one point. Speaking on the Grilled by The Staff Canteen podcast alongside Anna Haugh in 2023, Matt was asked about how long he had been married.

He revealed: "Currently nearly 23 years, it’ll be 24 this year. Well done me, go me. Sometimes it's touch and go let’s be honest, but so far we’re still here."

However, when asked how the lovebirds first met, the BBC host unexpectedly blurted out: "I used to go out with her sister - next [question]! Fun fact."

Anna quickly interjected: "How did I not know that? That is so you, well done you," to which Matt laughed and quipped: "Moving on."
