The fifth season of The Chosen is just around the corner, promising to deliver the next chapter in the greatest story ever told to fans worldwide.
The upcoming season, titled The Chosen: The Last Supper, is set to be the darkest yet, with cast members sharing exclusive details about the new series in an interview with Express.co.uk.
Jonathan Roumie, who plays Jesus in the Bible series, spoke about some of the more challenging aspects of filming, stating: "I think for me, getting to film the Last Supper and the Garden of Gethsemane were some of the most challenging moments because of the spiritual weight."
He added: "They're loaded and trying to approach them with a level of nuance and subtext and fullness of the moments in all of their emotional splendour is something I was, of course, concerned about and wanting to make sure I was as equipped spiritually and otherwise to take the challenge on."
Roumie concluded by saying: "So, hopefully, those challenges were met."
As for when The Chosen season 5 will be released, it's set to arrive just in time for Easter, although the release will be divided into several parts.
This season marks a departure for The Chosen, with the eight-episode series being split into three for theatrical release.
